Shoes Like Pottery are carefully constructed in Japan, using only the highest quality materials and fabrics, following methods that only a handful of skilled manufacturers practice today.
The hallmark of their shoes is that each pair is carefully hand stitched, receiving a special vulcanizing treatment that requires the rubber to be kiln fired (a Japanese process called ‘Ka-Ryu’). This leaves the rubber of the sole with a natural elasticity that is supple, flexible and highly durable, with the rubber then also used to interline and reinforce both toe and heel area. The shoes are then finished off with their recognisable contrasting blue sole for pop of colour and individually finished matching blue branding. This branded rubber stamp portrays ‘Uchide No Kozuchi’, a legendary Japanese hammer, that grants its holders wishes.
The high top is a simple and elegant silhouette that can easily be paired to any wardrobe.
